All for God
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
We are in Lent, a time of prayer, fasting, and silence. At every Eucharistic celebration, we are invited to the banquet of the Lamb; the Son of God made man sacrifices Himself for us and gives Himself to us to be one with our conditions and to save us.
“Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day” (John 6:54). To understand the importance of these words, let’s try to analyze concretely how we can live the journey of Lent in grace.
Time of prayer:
By transforming our actions, words, and attitudes in harmony with the will of God, true prayer becomes our life.
Time of fasting:
By abstaining from everything that distances us from the Kingdom of God and from whatever slows down our race towards Jesus.
Silence:
By protecting our prayers from the noise of evil. Like sweet symphonies, our aspirations should not be covered by discordant notes or by the noise of the world that tries to distract us.
Especially during this time of the year, when we recite the Stations of the Cross, let’s meditate on how Jesus has completely given Himself to us and what should be our response.
Lord, grant us the grace to understand what You have done and do for us, help us to open our hearts so that they become all Yours and our whole being is centered on You.
