Speak, Lord, your servant is listening

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Wishing you a blessed year filled with the Peace of the Lord.

In this first prayer marathon of 2024, we ask the Lord for one of the most important gifts: the ability to always listen to His word.

The Word of God, written for generations in the Holy Scriptures, is the constant thread of love between the Father and His children. Often, amidst the noise of the world, His voice goes unheard. Failing to heed the Father’s guidance, people drift so far away that they can no longer recognize the true voice of the One who loved them first and called them into the world. In the pursuit of momentary pleasure, materialism, the climb to success, and power, the real peace lies in the relationship between God and humans, in the daily dialogue of the heart, in hearing the voice of the heart and responding with love.

Jesus himself cites the Scriptures multiple times: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them” (Matthew 5:17).

Although the Bible is the best-selling book of all time and is present in our homes, it is not always read or consulted. The Holy Scripture, being the Word of God, is our manual and compass pointing towards the path to eternal salvation. In the world, many other religious beliefs do not read or believe in the Word of God; let us make them read it by observing our lives.

We ask the Lord for the grace to always stand firm in faith and be attentive!
