We are the Church
may the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ always be with us.
In this month of September, on the seventh day, we rejoiced in the canonization of two modern saints: Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati. Two young men in love with Jesus, attentive to the poor and the weak, with their eyes and minds always turned toward God.
Both born into wealthy families, they sought the truth beyond the comforts of their upbringing, dedicating themselves to the poor and the needy, keeping alive the message of the apostolate. Their famous words remain:
“Not me but God” Saint Carlo Acutis
“To live, not merely to exist” Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati
They gave their whole lives to God.
Their example calls us to live our own lives with greater attention to the value of time: time given and dedicated to God, time lived in communion with Jesus, feeling part of something greater, something eternal, part of the Church.
The true Church is not made of walls, but of hearts united in one Heavenly Father, in the Lord Jesus and in the Holy Spirit. Let us make our hearts beat in unison and, brick by brick, build together our Church for eternity.
