Jesus you are our light

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

we are in the first month of 2020 and our world prayer meeting number 84.

In January our planet was shaken by many hardships, amid tensions in the Middle East, natural disasters in the Philippines, Turkey, Brazil, Peru and other parts of the world and the recent outbreak of the Corona Virus in China.

Although we do not live in the affected places, we feel the weight of the suffering of our brothers and sisters, we feel the fear of any deterioration and very often we remain helpless to the news that comes to us every day.

The Lord is my light and my salvation,
who am I going to be afraid of?
The Lord is the defender of my life,
who will I be afraid of?…
Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud,
    be gracious to me and answer me!
‘Come,’ my heart says, ‘seek his face!’
    Your face, Lord, do I seek.
     Do not hide your face from me. ( Salm 27)

Like the psalmist, let’s make this prayer our own, Lord, You are our light, even if we walk in darkness, we continue to seek Your face, your word is our salvation.
We want, like every month, to invite you to pray with us, that our lives are a reflection of God and light to illuminate our earthly journey and pave the way for our brothers and sisters.

Lord Jesus, You who have healed hearts and bodies, You who have experienced earthly suffering, You who for love have given yourself to us, illuminate our lives and make the rays of your Divine grace nourished by the immense love of God father forever.

We rely on the intercession of the Virgin Mary for our dearest intentions, for Peace in the world and in our families, for all the suffering and for our Chinese brothers torn apart by the Crown Virus.
