70 x 7 is forgiveness an optional?
It seems impossible to imagine a world without misunderstandings, without quarrels, jealousies and dramas.
Yet the Lord asks us to live in this world by following his teachings and reject evil at any cost. The web of darkness of evil not only attaches to those who stain of sin but also those who are unable to open their hearts to forgiveness.
Can we can be forgiven by God if we cannot do it ourselves?
Forgiveness can help us to be closer to the Father?
If we reflect on the fact that God has forgiven us first we realize that sin is human and to forgive is divine.
Jesus tells Peter to forgive 70 times seven (forever) so to have the will to do so until the end of our earthly life. By Christians in this world we do not wear special clothes that characterize us but we follow Jesus by playing his own features: meekness, humility and tenderness. As Christ on the cross at each extreme difficulty we should be ready to open our hearts and say:
” Father forgive them, they ‘do not know what they do”
What prevents us then to forgive?
