Heart of Jesus, we trust in You.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
May the Peace of the Lord always be with us!
In this time, the word “Peace” takes on a deeply important meaning.
Let us think of the many conflicts in a world that turns to weapons as a form of investment, or of religions used to stir up feelings of anger and vengeance, or of nations at war threatening the use of weapons of mass destruction—to destroy ourselves and all of creation.
Peace is the foundation of our existence.
God created us to love and to be loved.
God rejoices when we rejoice and is happy to see us cooperate with intentions of peace and love.
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.”
(Colossians 3:15)
As Saint Paul reminds us, we are one body, created for a single purpose and pilgrims journeying toward one goal: the New Jerusalem.
How, then, can we be sure not to go astray and to do what is right?
Once again, the Disciple offers us an effective strategy:
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
(Colossians 3:17)
Indeed, we cannot do harm if our intentions are directed toward Christ.
And when we are unsure, we ask for the help of the Holy Spirit; we seek guidance from our confessors to help us discern and direct us toward the path of inner peace.
To love as Jesus loved us, offering His Most Sacred Heart for all of us—how can we remain indifferent?
Heart of Jesus, we trust in You.
In this 144th International Prayer Marathon, in the month of June dedicated to the Most Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we want to offer our very hearts to God the Father, ready to be shaped in His image!
Heart of Jesus, we trust in You.
