We carry the Cross with Jesus

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

The Peace of the Lord be with us.

Peace is God’s grace and creation, it is essential to be able to be in union with the Father.

We seek peace above all In this period in which the conflict in Ukraine, and the many other wars sometimes forgotten in other parts of the world hinder the Eternal project of unity.

During Lent, the biblical readings take us back to the exit of the Jewish people from Egypt, from slaves to free people worthy of the promise made to them.

Our freedom is in the Lord Jesus, who redeemed us with the cross, and with our small and large daily sacrifices we help to carry the cross of redemption and to come out of the state of slavery of sin to return to God.

As in the crossing of the desert of the Jewish people, our life also places us in front of so many uncertainties, sacrifices and obstacles that at times seem too big for us.

What to do in the darkest and most discouraging moments? Let us place our eyes on the Holy Cross of Christ, the only certainty of redemption and eternal salvation, God who is in power of everything will never abandon us, if we open our hearts to him.

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not perhaps more important than them? And which of you, no matter how busy you are, can add a single hour to his life? (Matthew 6: 26-27)

Yes, Lord, help us to bear and carry with faith the various crosses of our life, even if we feel you are far away in the silence but you are close to us in the soul.
