Closer to You, Jesus
The period of Lent invites us to undertake a journey of 40 days, a pilgrimage to the Father, who as a 40-year exodus frees us from slavery, confirms us as children of God and strengthens us in temptations like Jesus in the desert.
In order to live this journey fully, we need to detach ourselves from the confusion, find more time for prayer, a moment of silence in our day to be able to entrust ourselves to God and then free ourselves from everything that moves us away from Him.
But how to do it?
The Gospel gives us clear indications on how to live our life, yes is the same Gospel of 2000 years ago that is very current in our day!
And in times of suffering?
Yes, when everything seems impossible, clouded and uncertain … we turn our eyes on the Cross …
Let us reflect on the unjustified hatred of the world against Jesus and the love of Jesus for the world.
Jesus the son of God suffered for us, to save us from our sins, for a simple reason, because he loves us and considers us friends.
13 No one has a greater love than this: to give his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends, if you do what I command you.
John 15: 13-14
During our sufferings we are sure that Jesus understands us, supports us and knows how we feel, in that cross that for many is a rejection, for us it is the promise of the eternal life.
In our Lenten journey we want to be closer to You Lord Jesus!
Closer to the suffering, marginalized, persecuted and to all people far from God, in order to bring Jesus to them with our lives.
