You are the salt of the earth
The peace of God be with us!
The month of August is dedicated to God the Father, creator of all visible and invisible things, creations made out of love. Among these creations, we are also included!
And God said: “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God created man in his own image; in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:26-28)
Having been created by God and for God, in His image, our happiness is to be sought in God Himself. We cannot satisfy ourselves with things that do not come from the depths of our own creation, temporary and superficial things that lack the essence and imprint of the Creator. The things of the world change, break, deteriorate, and fade away. If we belong solely to the world, we are tied to a specific place, a single culture, and a solitary way of living according to our society, and we are compelled to achieve specific goals to conform to the world. However, if we feel ourselves to be part of God’s family, every place belongs to us because it is the creation of the Father. Every culture and way of living is part of our being, part of the search for truth. We are no longer strangers but siblings, children of a single God, destined for eternal joys.
So, therefore, you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God. Ephesians 2:19
To remain steadfast in the love of the Father, we entrust ourselves to the Son, Jesus, God made man to live on earth with us and like us. Jesus urges us to be alive in the world, to make every small gesture essential, to fulfill the work of our creation, to be in His image, to be the salt of the earth.
