We are free, free to harm ourselves..

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

a few days ago ended in Assisi ( Italy) the day for Peace.
It was exciting to see the representatives of different cultures and religions to pray together for the most precious gift: Peace in the world, in our country, in families and in the hearts of each one of us.
Often we seek peace in fulfilling the moments of our needs, stability or in shifting our attention to something else to forget about it.
Unfortunately in our society we do not realize that we are slaves of our vices, our links with the sin ,for the lust for success and money, the need for autonomy and omnipotence that leads us to seek our freedom in an even more hidden slavery.
The Lord gives us freedom but like a good shepherd is always ready to protect ourselves, to wait and take care of us.

The devil on the other hand with its stylized techniques specifically for each of us wants to tie us, slowing us down and keep as far away from the Truth.

“If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; you will know the truth and the truth will make you free “. (John 8: 31-32)

Free from the traps of the enemy and free from harm.
Faithful to the word of Jesus, in accepting his teachings as a rule of life, directions to the path that leads us to the ” sense of our existence ”: to live eternally with God the Father.

Let us invoke the Holy protection of St. Michael the Archangel and all the Angels and Saints, which we celebrate especially in this month of September: Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta, St. Padre Pio and St. Therese of Lisieux and we remember our intentions in the Monthly Prayer Marathon 72 hours for Jesus.
Like swallows exposed to many distractions, risks and hazards out of the nest, we have the opportunity to invoke the protection of the Lord, taking refuge under His wings and then fly with Him forever.
