Thy will be done
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
we all turn to the Father with the same words that the Lord Jesus taught us in the prayer of the Our Father. They are simple and direct words, words with which as children turn to parents.
We ask for the blessing of our loved ones, we want our family to live well and f long and we often ask ourselves what are the desires of God on the lives that he himself gave us.
What is God’s will?
Saint Paul, as he wrote to Timothy, writes to all of us today, saying that “God wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2,4).
God then does not limit himself only to desire all this but seeks us, attracts us with his love and always shows us the way to aspire to the greatest gift of holiness, seen as salvation for ourselves and for others.
We don’t always understand and we don’t always manage to accept, but why?
Why when we were kid we didn’t want to leave games to do our homework or why in trials we still doubt that every day the Lord is by our side?
God desires our salvation but with our will and freedom, in fact it is fundamental that we have faith without constraints, loving without reserve.
In this 80th Marathon of prayer, we turn to you, God the Creator of the universe,we love you and we want our life goals to be the desires you have for us. Let us put in your hands our small and fragile lives so that with your blessing they may be pleasing to you. We pray for our brothers far away from You so that they can enjoy the love you have for them. We humbly ask You to always show us the way ahead to never lose our eyes towards you. Let us have recourse to the intercession of our Mother Mary and of all the Saints who with their lives witnessed your Holy presence among us. Remember us, even if we are , we sinners are your children.
