Sacred Heart of Jesus, live in us

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

in last month’s marathon we asked the Holy Spirit to breathe in us in order to be ourselves his temple and resting place .
In this month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, let us meditate on the great gift received from God the Father of the coming of the Savior, our Lord.
The Emmanuel, the God with us who remains with us until the end of time.

“Which of you, if he has a hundred sheep and loses one, does not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go in search of the lost one, until he finds it?”
When he has found it, full of joy he loads it on his shoulders, goes home, calls his friends and neighbors, and tells them: “Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep, the one that was lost”. (Luke 15 3-6)

This passage from the Gospel of Luke, part of the liturgy of the feast of the Most Holy Heart of Jesus, summarizes the essentiality of God in a few verses.
The Father who sends his Son to save his creatures, who have lost their direction and have taken the wrong path and find themselves alone, in the dark, in danger.

Your enemy, the devil, goes around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5: 8

And the Son who rejoices in bringing the children of God back home and to safety, and then rejoices for eternity.

Lord Jesus, we entrust ourselves to the mercy of Your Most Holy Heart, source of joy and peace, enable us to always be able to hear Your call and be enlightened by your holiness to be able to illuminate our path in the deserts of the world.
