Jesus we believe in You

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

The peace of the Lord be with us always.

We are in Lent and in the last newsletter we have explored the meaning of prayer, fasting, silence, tools that help us to get closer to the Lord.

In this March marathon that precedes the Holy Week, we want to meditate on the need of each of us to abandon ourselves to Christ.

During the Lenten period the passages taken from the Sunday Gospels have given us all the indications for the way of salvation, in knowing, loving and following Jesus.

We want to summarize our Lenten journey that began on February 22nd with

- Ash Wednesday in which Jesus invites us to be humble and simple and to do everything with love to give Glory to God: Your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you (Mt 6:1-18)

-on the first Sunday of Lent, February 26, Jesus resists the temptations of the devil, Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God (Mt 4:1-11)

- on the second Sunday on March 5, God the Father indicates Jesus as the Son to follow, Jesus is transfigured on Mount Tabor and ” His face shines like the sun ” (Mt 17: 1-9)

- Jesus is the source of life, the Samaritan woman at the well becomes the evangeliser of her village and we too, in this third stage (Sunday 12 March) of our journey, are invited to drink a water that will become in us a spring that gushes for the eternal life.( Jn4:5-42)

- Jesus restores sight to the man born blind and opens the eyes of our hearts (Jn 9:1-41) I am the light of the world says the Lord, whoever follows me will have the light of life, Gospel of Sunday 19 March.

-Jesus brings Lazarus back to life, for he is the Lord of life (Jn 11:1-45) ‘’I am the resurrection and the life’’, Sunday March 26th.

Those are the five passages of the Gospel that contain God’s love for us and the divinity of our Lord Jesus. We have certainties: God the Father the creator of the universe loves us so much that He gives us His only son … And our answer is Jesus, we believe in you, untie us from the bonds of sin, make us humble, open our eyes to the truth, give us the source of life and make us to be reborn in your love.
