God is with us and within us
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
May the peace of the Risen Lord be with us forever. Indeed, one of the great promises made by Jesus is this:
“I leave you peace; my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid” (John 14:27).
It is a complete peace, the peace of minds and hearts. It is the true preparation for eternal life, it is walking with the Lord in the individual journey of holiness.
The lives of the Saints show us that not always those who follow Jesus closely have an easier life, free from difficulties, fears, and sufferings, but they have a different way of reacting, of living every single moment, and of offering every situation to Him who is the creator of the infinite.
God wants to be sought, especially with an attitude of humility, search, and deepening in the Scriptures, in the prayer of the heart, and in trust in His grace, to then be found and loved.
Just as in a relationship between two lovers who try to spend as much time as possible getting to know each other, they find fulfillment in each other’s company and presence, desiring each other’s well-being. Or like a mother holding her child in her arms, in that embrace, the desire for happiness and love merges beyond any other expectation or demand: I am alive thanks to God.
Life is not a test to see who becomes richer, more famous, or more powerful; this is a striving that does not bring peace. Instead, it is about giving oneself to be loved and to love, to find the One who loved us first and will continue to do so for eternity:
“Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them” (John 14:23).
We invite you to participate in the 128th International Prayer Marathon “God is with us and within us,” which will take place on September 28th, 29th, and 30th, 2023.
