Emmanuele come into our hearts
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Peace be with us !!
We are in the most beautiful time of the year, in which we are waiting for the Emmanuel, the God with us. So how can we prepare for this meeting? The cities light up, the shops are decorated with sparkling decorations, we hurry to shop and make a good impression on everyone …
But what is the place reserved for Jesus? The Lord wants to be born in us .. Our hearts are too crowded and busy that the Lord Jesus does not find a place and is forced as 2000 years ago to find refuge in the mangers set up in churches and in small cribs. The world did not recognize him (John 1:10)
It is no longer fashionable to put Jesus at the center of Christmas, it is easier to link him to a legend or tradition that is no longer in use. It is no longer convenient to put Jesus at the center of Christmas because it would cause too much discussion, if Jesus was born then he also died for us, to save us. Many of our behaviors would then be questioned .. It is not respectful to put Jesus at the center of Christmas, because atheists, pagans, and all other religious cults could be offended.
The joy of Christmas must be for everyone, so let’s remove Jesus, so nobody gets offended! It is counterproductive to put Jesus at the center of Christmas, because although he was the son of God, he was born poor. How could holiday waste be justified when there are so many people in the world who go hungry even on Christmas Day? Like every year, Jesus is reborn to be able to change the world with us.
He gives us the possibility of being reborn in him, on condition that we can clean the stable of our heart and make it welcoming and full of love. Does Jesus trust us, and do we trust him? How can we commit ourselves in this advent to prepare a place for Jesus in us? Preparation : Let us be ready for the meeting.
The baby Jesus needs love. Awareness, the child of God comes among us. Listening: what does our heart need to welcome Jesus? What about our family? Our friends and colleagues? Forgiveness: Re we learn to forgive. We don’t want to have a heavy hearted Bell encounter with Jesus.
Purification: We clean our mind and our heart. We spend more time on personal prayer, reading the Bible, commenting on the Gospel. Let’s take care of ourselves, of our person and of those around us. We pledge to be the light of Christ in the world of darkness.
Opening: even at a closed door, Jesus knocks constantly. Let’s open. Our heart, Jesus is alive and loves us. “Do not be afraid: behold, I announce to you a great joy, which will be of all the people: today, in the city of David, a Savior was born for you, who is Christ the Lord”. Lk 2: 10-11 118
