As the world is changing …changing the family and us?
These days it is taking place in Philadelphia the World Meeting of Families with the theme ” Love is our mission, the family fully alive ”
There is a real reminder of the family as a sanctuary of love and life, in fact, God created us out of love and in turn we are participating in the design of the Divine Creation loving and engendering new life.
In 1980 His Holiness Pope John Paul II in the ‘Apostolic Exhortation Familiaris Cosortio states that the central word of Revelation, “God loves His people,” is likewise proclaimed through the living and concrete word whereby a man and a woman express their conjugal love. Their bond of love becomes the image and the symbol of the covenant which unites God and His people. (see. eg. Hos 2:21; Jer 3.6 to 13; Isaiah 54).
Sin, divisions and the same changes in this relation not only change the concept of the family but ourselves and our relationship with God.
It is often said that times change and we need to be open to new and have a broader view of life and human relationships.
It also changes the way to love and respect ourselves and created new lives?
Are we really aware of the risk we run in the change in our love relationship with ourselves and with God?
October 4th will begin the Synod of Bishops for the family, we would like to invite you to join our prayers for the Holy Spirit to guide us in this new passage between the aridity ‘and superficiality’ of our times and return to union with God the Father.
