And if our dreams are not those of God?
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven ‘’ ( Matthew 18:3-4 )
We often ask ourselves the meaning of these words, often we would really return children, or dream of a childhood more happy and carefree, where game and reality are mixed and there are no limits to the dreams.
What will you be?
We still remember what we have answered to that question?
How many of those answers have changed or are still desires … what God has still set aside for us?
Jesus advising us to become like children is suggesting that we return to dream and to abandon ourselves to the will of God, as children we can not wish evil or something that goes against the purity and loyalty. As children we have an uncorrupted heart because our angels in heaven always see the face of the Father (Matthew 18:10)
Welcoming the Kingdom of God as children who trust blindly, in need of being loved and learning how to love.
In the divine plan of salvation as in our life there are so many questions and so many paths that lead us to change our dreams conformed to our human littleness not the biggest project of God’s love.
As the young Mary of Nazareth or St. Joseph to the many contemporary Saints, the Christian martyrs of 2015 to 800 or more lives sunk in the sea of Sicily a few days ago.
Everyone had a dream: a better life, happiness (Pope Francis 04/19/2015)
Which may be the answer to all of this or to our dreams interrupted or changed in a more or less tragic way ?
What would answer a child?
The direct answer is given by the young Virgin Mary:
“Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to your word ‘”Lc.1,38
